Google Trends data revealed the most Googled houseplants in America by state. According to AllAboutGardening.com, Monstera deliciosa (Swiss cheese plant), is the most popular houseplant in America in 16 states.
Monstera deliciosa
The Swiss Cheese Plant is easy to care for and thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Monstera deliciosas are evergreens and especially popular for their large, vibrant leaves. A favorite in sixteen states.

It loves a good drink every two weeks and lots of indirect sunlight to thrive. This was the second most popular houseplant for seven American states.

The Chlorophytum comosum is most commonly known as the Spider plant. Perfect as a hanging plant and loves bright, indirect sunlight. Can be easily propagated via its pups.

Prayer Plant

Maranta leuconeura or Prayer Plant was only the top searched houseplant in one state. The plant literally “prays” at night by closing its leaves. Although, it perks back up during the day.
